Use IT

Today I would like to gather here some of the useful things I have been collecting for a while. I am doing this also for people who would like maybe to find inspiration or learn something new about Visual arts. Also this week I am guiding an intern, who maybe will be a future student at The Animation Workshop. This could be a good resource for intern as well.

1. Dynamics in every drawing
1. Toonboxstudio has some nice videos which could help a beginner or professional in understanding how to make a drawing more dynamic. Really great, we had here at The Animation Workshop, Sarah Airriess talking about the same thing. If you go to Toonbox channel you can find and other nice advices.

2. It is a necessity to draw from reference!
2. I enjoy really much how Will Terrell talks in his videos. You can follow his channel and get the charm of his lessons. His art is also impressive. In the bellow video, Will talks about how to draw from reference.I think this step is very useful for every artist. That's why we are constantly drawing from life and especially the human body.

3. SAI is Good
3. This is what you can do if you don't have money to buy a license for Photoshop which is around 700 usd . You can use Paint tool SAI trial and if you like it you can buy it for around 46 usd. It is a japanese drawing program which can give quite interesting results especially if you just begin drawing digitally. Here you can download it http://www.systemax.jp/en/sai/

4. Silhouette is creative
4. I consider this a really great exercise for challenging your imagination and creativity. You just go nuts with drawing different silhouettes, You even can go and draw some incident strokes and after rotate them and try to create the image you see in that stroke. Sometimes it is exciting to do just that. This is also good to do in animation, but for other purposes.

5. Useful collection

5. Character design on pinterest has a great collection of different types of art and also they do have sorted maps for every occasion you can need. You can just enter and see if it fits you. They're also organising character design challenges on facebook.

6. Frank and Ollie

6. This two amazing guys can introduce some animation to every angry buddy. Frank and Ollie are two artists who made animation with soul. Following the link below you can find their blog, they're talking about animation, their life and other interesting things. Give it a look :

7. How you make it?

7. The following video shows the process of developing and making an animated piece.I think it looks really appealing.  I consider this could give an idea to newcomers in animation world about how an animated movie is getting created. Video is from a graduate movie from Gobelins called FUR.

This is the end of my Use IT first part! I will make this posts in future in order to add some new links and good info to it . Have a nice day!
With love a purple frog!
